That Generation Thing

I'm going to sort all that out for you now.


The Silent generation: people born before 1946.

The Baby Boomers,:people born between 1946 and 1959.

Generation X: people born between 1960 and 1979.

Generation Y: people born between 1980 and 1995.




Why do we call the last one generation Y? I didn't know the answer to that but found a cartoonist who explains it all so elegantly and eloquently below...

  1. Thanks www for clearing that up .I no longer wonder about it.I call my generation born just near the end of the dirty thirties and 10 years before the boomer the tweeners.

    Reminds me of what we used to call, in the UK, "Builders' Bum".

    (I like to think the Silent Generation ended in 1939 - then there's a group of "War Babies" (including moi) until 1946.)
